Standing up for Jesus

By Justin, a student volunteer to the Pacific Rim

God allowed my team and I to disciple a lot of new believers during our time in the Pacific Rim. We were able to see them grow a lot in their faith. One new believer was so frightfully shy that it was hard to get her to even come out and meet us when we first arrived. She totally changed this summer. By the end of our time in her country, she got up in front of hundreds of other students from her former religion and told them about her relationship with Christ. One of the biggest blessings of the summer for me was hearing her talk about the change that God had made in her life. Knowing that she was facing persecution and the risk of her family and friends disowning her, she still stood up and spoke out for Christ. I am awed and humbled by her courage, the courage that Christ gave her.
