  • There are 434 people groups in China; 421 are considered ethnic-minority groups.
  • Only 55 ethnic-minority groups are recognized by the government.
  • Of the 55 official groups, 22 have populations of less than 100,000.
  • The majority of the smaller groups do not have potable water or medical clinics.
  • Most of the smaller groups lack schools, telephones and postal services.
  • 365 of China's ethnic-minority groups are considered unreached, and 215 have no known Christians.
