God’s passion, your task!

Have you ever asked yourself: “What is God’s ultimate passion?” And not only that, but “What is His central motivation?”

WHAT IS GOD’S WILL FOR MY LIFE?!! At some point all college students who earnestly seek God ask this question. What most of them don’t know is that God has already laid out for us His will for each of our lives. God wants us to be part of His plan to bless all the people groups of the earth with an intimate relationship with Himself through His Son, Jesus.

Don’t believe that is God’s will for you? Don’t take my word for it—check it out for yourself.

God first unfolded His plan for you in Genesis 12:1-3 when He spoke His plan to Abram. Look at the last half of verse 3: “and all peoples (i.e. people groups) on earth will be blessed through you” (NIV). God repeated this plan four other times in Genesis alone to make sure His people caught the vision (see Genesis 18:17-19, 22:16-18, 26:2-5, 28:13-15). Since God’s people didn’t get it, though, the prophet Isaiah had to get on the horn and remind God’s people that they are to be a light to the Gentiles (i.e. all non-Jewish peoples of the world) in Isaiah 49:5-6. Jesus then repeated the call in Matthew 28:18-20 (also recorded in Acts 1:8).

Finally, John wrote about the result of our lives in Revelation 7:9-10. Peoples from all nations, tribes, tongues and languages will be around God’s throne worshiping Him at the end of time because God’s people clued in to His plan—His will for their lives. That means you. That means me. We matter in God’s plan to bring the nations to salvation through Jesus Christ.
