Question 3: How can a student work with missionaries that s/he knows?

Answer:

If a student wants to work with a particular missionary with whom he/she is already acquainted, encourage that student to contact the missionary to ask if the missionary can use the student in his/her strategy for a short-term project. If the missionary agrees for the student to come to the field, please do the following:

  • Remind the missionary to send to the IMB a STUDENT project request with the student’s name on it.
  • Have the student complete a student missions application with a reference from you as his/her collegiate minister
  • Notify the IMB Student Mobilization Team of the missionary’s name and the student’s name, phone number and e-mail address. Please do not assume that the Student Mobilization Team will know about your student without your help. To make communication as clear as possible, please ask the student to contact us.
