Question 5: How can a team work with missionaries that they know?

Answer:

If a team/team leader wants to work with a particular missionary who is already acquainted with the team/team leader, then the team leader or collegiate minister can contact the missionary to inquire about serving with the missionary on a short-term project. If the missionary agrees for the team to come to the field, the team leader should do the following:

• Ask the missionary to send to the IMB a STUDENT volunteer project request with the team leader or collegiate minister’s name and contact information on it. If the missionary does not know how to complete a student volunteer project request, tell him/her to talk with the regional office.
• Have the team leader complete a team registration.
• Notify the IMB Student Mobilization Team of the missionary’s name and the team leader’s name, phone number and e-mail address. Please do not assume the Student Mobilization Team will hear of your team’s project from the missionary on the field. Help us make communication as clear as possible by contacting our office after talking with the field personnel.
