Question 6: What happens after an
individual student has applied directly to the IMB?
Answer:
- As soon as possible of receiving the students application,
it is read and considered by a committee.
- The committee either assigns the student to a project
or declines the student for missions service that year.
- Once the student is assigned, s/he is sent an approval
packet which consists of:
- The description for the project, including the field
supervisors name and contact information
- Security
information if the student will serve in a sensitive
region of the world. For students in nonrestricted regions,
this information will be omitted from the approval packet.
- A prepaid envelope addressed to the IMB Student Mobilization Team
Other items necessary for the
students preparation which are on this Web site and,
therefore, no longer sent through the mail are:
The student must complete ALL THE FORMS in the approval
packet and on the Web site. EACH PIECE OF
INFORMATION IS CRUCIAL TO A STUDENTS PREPARATION FOR
MISSION. The IMB Student Mobilization Team is not responsible
for students who fail to complete all portions of the preparation
process and thereby jeopardize their participation on a mission
project.
- When all forms are submitted, the students will receive
a travel itinerary from the travel agent and an insurance
card from Adams and Associates to take to the field.
- Students are encouraged to contact their field
supervisor with questions that are culturally specific.
