For Field Personnel
Effective Communication with your Student Missionary
Communication is essential to a healthy and
beneficial relationship between you and your student missionaries.
A good experience on the field depends on how well you prepare.
One of the best ways to prepare for your student missionaries
is to try to answer the basic questions before they arrive.
The following is a beginning list of questions that you
should answer and send to your missionary. Add other questions
that are specific to your situation. Other questions that
students may ask you before they arrive in country are also
listed at www.thetask.org/students
and called “Questions to Ask Your Field Supervisor.”
-
What are the characteristics of my field
of service?
- What can I expect from my supervisor?
- What does my supervisor expect of me?
-
What arrangements have been made for my
housing, food, and transportation?
-
What do I do with the money I raise for
the costs on the field?
-
What type of “down time” will
I have?

the climate, local customs, and activities in which I

in the country? For the ministry?
