God and an 8-year-old Welsh boy
It was a summer of seed planting. It wasnt what
we had expected to happen this summer. Our team had prayed
that revival would come to Wales, and we would see lots of
people come to a personal relationship with Christ. But no
one that we knew of accepted Christ as their Savior.
It was our last day in the city where we had already spent
seven weeks. We had contented ourselves that God would have
to be the One to bring in the harvest. We had planted. The
day before, a boy at a Bible Club had given me a letter that
he told me not to open until we left. I opened the letter
that morning and read it. He thanked us for coming and told
us what good friends we had been to him. Then he asked a question,
What do I have to do to become a Christian like you?
I was so surprised. I quickly found a sheet of paper and shared
my testimony as well as the plan of salvation. I put the letter
in the mail. God truly rewarded our whole team through him.
We may never know until we get to heaven what effect we had
on Carmarthen, Wales. We trust in the Father that we planted
in the hearts of people the same question this 8-year-old
boy asked.
