Chad and Keyesy Logan
Band director & music teacher
Western Europe
God has been so faithful in our pursuit of Him. Chad and I both
shared a call to missions before we were married in 1995--mine through
my experiences as an MK in Portugal and Chad through missionary
speakers at his church in Bruce, Miss.
“In the trenches”
We worked several jobs until the Lord planted us in Lee County
in north Mississippi. God has guided us toward His purpose while
we have lived there the past four years. I got a job at a local
high school teaching music, and Chad had a part-time ministerial
position at our church.
The day before school started, the principal of my school shared
that they were in need of another band director. He asked if I knew
of anyone who could fill in. Is God awesome or what? Chad's degree
from Mississippi College is in music, as is mine. He was hired over
the phone that day!
These past two years have shown us a side of youth work that we
never experienced in the church. We were in the trenches. Day in
and day out we were confronted with the lostness of the next generation.
They were searching for the truth--looking everywhere but to the
Gospel.
Students seeking
Under the magnifying glass of their young, tender eyes, our lives
became open books. Our home became their refuge. One student even
came knocking on the door one afternoon for the sole purpose of
seeking the Lord. He prayed with Chad that afternoon to accept Christ.
God told us it was time through a trip last summer to Portugal
and Spain. We worked with the youth-aged missionary kids (MKs) of
the Iberian Cluster and knew we were finding the niche God had for
us. From there we were led to the position of MK consultant for
Western Europe.
