Students will come to Ufa, the Islamic capital of Russia (where less than 2/10ths of 1% of folks have professed Jesus as Lord), in order to creatively push back spiritual darkness through celebrating Christmas with locals, prayerwalking, cultural exchange, creative arts, scripture distribution, children's clubs, home visits, & possibly humanitarian work in orphanages/prisons.You will assist existing churches to help start new Bible studies/churches in areas without a Christian witness. FLEXIBLE DATES! COME ANY 10 DAYS BETWEEN 12/15/2008 AND 12/15/2011! (This is a winter sport, so you would need to come between December 15 and March 1.) Student individuals, team members and team leaders must be active members of a Southern Baptist church to participate on this project.
The assignment will be two-fold:(1) Be a full-time student at a local university for the purpose of access, preferably studying Russian language and culture and making a myriad of witnessing relationship contacts along the way; (2) Assist TeamUfa in conversational English activities and groups as fulfillment of one of our team strategies.Your overarching goal is to intentionally pour your life into whatever situation God places you in Ufa, especially in starting/nurturing witnessing relationships.
