Women
Seeking Truth
From
Beyond the Wall eletter
A growing group of Bihari women in Bangladesh meet weekly
to hear stories from God’s Word. Their Islamic upbringing
and their limited education make it hard for them to grasp
some of the more abstract concepts; however, the similarities
between biblical culture and their own Muslim culture make
many stories more personal and real. They identify with
the woman who was unfit to serve God and her family because
she had been bleeding for 12 years. They also understand
the nervousness of Jairus, a local religious leader who
needed a miracle from Jesus but feared fellow religious
leaders would scorn him for asking the controversial teacher
for help. Thank God for His Word, and pray for Bihari women
to hear, understand and live by it. Pray that they will
experience God’s power in their lives and will overcome
fears of being criticized and possibly ostracized for following
Jesus.
